Motivation Monday

Recipe Time!!! Yes I know this is a change, but I love to make protein pancakes and they are just too yummy not to share! They are super easy to make, fast, and are packed with protein!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup egg whites (usually just from one egg)
1 banana 
Protein Powder preferably in vanilla
Cinnamon
Fruit (optional)

You need a mixing bowl and then a griddle for where you will be cooking the pancakes, and some pan spray so that the pancakes won't stick to the pan. 

First you need to smash the banana. I use a tiny food chopper thing to get it smooth, but I have used a potato masher gadget in the past and it works, but you just have larger pieces.

When the banana in smashed, combine that and the egg whites in the mixing bowl, add 1 leveled scoop of you protein powder, sprinkle some cinnamon. Mix away!!!

This is what it should look like when everything is mixed together. It will be thick, don't worry, that is normal. 

Once everything is mixed all together you are now ready to cook. Spray your griddle first so that your pancakes do not stick to your pan, even though it may be nonstick like mine is, I still use spray. 

The pancakes will cook rather quickly, so be sure to keep an eye on them and keep the heat on the stove between high and sim. You will see the pancakes start to look dark almost burnt, that is ok, don't worry, it won't taste burnt! Trust me! 

On the griddle, so you can see what size I did and the consistency.
Flipping is just like regular pancakes, but if the bottom is not cooked all the way, they will break apart, like one of mine did. Once they are done cooking, maybe 5 minutes, you can serve with fruit, fresh or frozen depending on what you have. I don't use syrup because why add sugar, and I'm not much of a syrup person, but if you want to, go ahead!! 
Today I added blueberries! 

I did some calculations and these have 249 calories and 24 grams of protein! The caloric value may differ depending on the protein powder you use, I use Raw Protein which is plant based and only has 90 calories per scoop.

Project time

I haven't done a reveal yet, I am still waiting for some bedding to arrive, but I have updated my room a bit. I will do a post once it all comes together, but I wanted to share this simple project I completed today. I was bored with my current wall art, and was thinking what can I do that would be different, but still fun! I did look online, but nothing really caught my eye, so I saw this idea on Pintrest and knew I could do this!

I don't remember how long it took, but I love the end result and I cannot wait to hang it up!


I happened to be in Lowe's so I went to the paint department and took a bunch of pink samples in various colors, 14 samples to be exact. 


Then I went to Michaels and got a canvas, pop up glue dots or dimensionals (whatever you call them) and I already had the heart punch.

I got to punching on the paint samples and got 9 hearts out of each sample, but I only ended up using 8.


Make sure to keep all the colors together! This will help in the layout step to get the ombre correct.


Start to place your hearts how you want them on the canvas.  


This is how it should look when all the rows are done being laid out.  


While leaving all the hearts on the canvas, start on the top row, and use a dimensional on the back in the center of the heart and place where you want it. The first row is the hardest. You can reposition them, but you have to be gentle.  


Here you can see the ones that are glued down, how they pop up, and the ones that still need to be completed.

Motivation Monday!

What helps to keep you motivated and on track with eating right? Temptation is everywhere these days from Fro-yo places on every corner and cupcakes in every flavor under the sun! These are some tips that I follow that I thought could help you.

1. On Twitter and Instagram, because come on, who DOESN'T have both, I follow fitness related people, like fitness magazine, and forever fit. When I am looking at my feed, and the little tips or sayings about fitness come up, it reminds me to stay on track.

2. On your iphone, because I know you have that also, make the lock screen wallpaper an inspirational saying. Pintrest has tons of these! Right now, I have mine set as "Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy" That way every time I unlock my phone, I read the saying and it keeps me focused.

3. I also subscribe to Jillian Michael's daily emails. She gives tons of tips about working out and eating. She will give recipes and will do a weekly fact or myth post which is always my favorite. I always have one of her workout DVD's in my DVD player, currently the 30 day shred is in there.

4. I always keep a Pure Protein Shake and a Quest Bar in my bag at all times. You never know when you are going to be hungry and you want to be prepared, so you don't resort to crappy stuff like fast food. Today for example, my lunch was a 35g Pure Protein chocolate shake, and around 3:30 I will have a snack, most likely an apple. Both of these products you can purchase at the Vitamin Shoppe.

Since my body and carbs have a hate hate relationship I try to avoid them at all costs, and only have about 100g of carbs per day. I also try and only have carbs before 12. I'm also seriously increasing my water intake, that helps with everything!

What's in my makeup bag??

I know I talk often about makeup and the different products I am currently obsessed with, but I have never given you a peak into my makeup bag...until now! Have I ever even shown you my makeup stash like my drawers? I think maybe once I did....I went into the archives and searched and searched and finally found a post where I showed you my makeup stash (at the time). However, that post needs some serious updating!!! I have so much new stuff that is missing, that just needs to be shared! Here is the link if you want to see some of what I have.

Anyway on to the bag!

I guess it could function better, and I could have better products in it, but I don't oh well!


I use this as my makeup bag, and its perfect when going out on the town on a whim, you can use this and leave the big bag in the car!

Smells yummy!

I have a slight obsession.....addiction.....well I don't know what you want to call it, but I am in love with Bath and Body Works candles! Yankee candle has nothing on them!

When I find a scent I love, I purchase everything that comes in that particular scent. Currently I am loving Caribbean Escape! I have the candle and the car freshener because sadly that is all it comes in. DISLIKE!


If you sign up for their emails, they will constantly send you what promotions are going on. Right now, the larger 3 wick candles are 2 for $22 which is an awesome deal considering 1 is normally $20!

I don't know if you are like me, but every time it is one of my friends birthdays off to the liquor store I go. Well, Bath and Body Works has a fabulous candle line that is dedicated for us boozers!

Studded Converse

Well first I need to apologize for taking such a long break, that wasn't my intention at all! School is ending next week and my life has been hectic to say the least! With school coming to an end, I hope to get back to a regular blogging schedule! I have some fun ideas for upcoming posts so stay tuned for that. Mean while, lets talk shoes!

You know me, when I get an idea in my head, watch out, there is no stopping me! I will not be satisfied until I at least attempt what ever the idea was. Enter studded Hi-top Converse.

I saw them originally on Etsy for $135. Being the little creative Jessica that I am, I knew I did not have to spend $135, I figured I could make them myself. After going to every fabric mom and pop store and fabric chain store by me, I decided to order the studs online. While the studs were "in the mail" I decided what color hi-tops I wanted and purchased them.

           I ordered Red, duh!                                          These are the studs I used.









The studs arrived in the mail yesterday, and wouldn't you know it I had to get to work right away!!! As far as project time, it took me maybe an hour and a half, way faster then when I blinged the front of my converse with rhinestones.

Already one of my friends wants a pair, so I guess Jessica's studded converse store is open for business.
